Check unread comment counts, read a task’s full comment history, and send a message to a tutor.

Unread counts

Lists every task in the unit with its status and unread comment count — a scan for what needs your attention, without marking anything read.

Reading a task’s history

chats read prints the full comment history for one task. It always requires --yes, even at an interactive terminal that would normally get a y/N prompt:
That’s because OnTrack itself marks non-discussion comments as read the moment you fetch a task’s history — there’s no read-only way to view it. ontrack refuses to do that silently, so it makes you pass --yes explicitly and prints a warning to stderr every time it does. Use --dry-run to see the same warning without fetching anything. Full syntax: ontrack chats read.

Marking comments read without reading them

This is the explicit version of the same side effect: it marks a task’s comments read without printing the history. Like other mutations, it prompts for confirmation at a terminal, or takes --yes / --dry-run elsewhere — see Mutations.

Sending a message

--message is sent exactly as given, up to 4095 characters. The plan echoes the message and its target task before asking for confirmation:
Full syntax: ontrack chats.
